A Potentially Fatal Virus is affecting Canines.

There is a New upper respiratory virus in Canines that’s is spreading throughout the United States. Here are some key symptoms to look for.

  • A hacking productive Cough
  • - Increased Lethargy.
  • - Nasal or Eye Discharge
  • - Loss of appetite
  • - Fever

Dogs that are up to date with thier flu and kennel cough vaccine can still contract the virus. If you suspect that your dog is infected pleases contact your vet and keep your dog quarantined from other dogs. If all possible during the holiday season,it is best not to board your dogs or take them to a dog park. The virus has been reported in Oregon,Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Colorado.

The most at risk are puppies and elderly canines. Veterinarians can prescribe antibiotics but it some cases it doesn’t help. There is no known source as how this virus or bacteria has developed.
